In Viry, near Saint-Julien-en-Genevois, residents of the EHPAD Les Ombelles go on a trip, by train whenever they want, almost on demand, thanks to a wagon installed inside their establishment.
It is the first therapeutic wagon of its kind tested in the region; others are already elsewhere in France or Belgium. In fact, it is a container that is more or less large depending on the space available to the reception structure. Equipped like a real train carriage, with all the decor that goes with it and four comfortable armchairs. On a screen that looks like a false window, the landscapes scroll by and take passengers on a 20-minute journey to diverse and varied destinations, all of which stimulate the passengers' memory, awaken memories and bring comfort.
Initiated by the insurance company Groupama, the deployment of these therapeutic wagons, manufactured by the company Grand-Viain EHPADs is just starting to establish itself in Savoie and Haute-Savoie. That of Viry is the first and is already the envy of those around you. It was co-financed by Groupama and the AURA region.
