The Primary Health Insurance Fund has built a brand new building where 265 people now work, on the site of the former Mutualité française.
The Hérault Health Insurance Fund inaugurated its new building located on rue de la 32e, a stone's throw from Gambetta, on Thursday evening. Launched in January 2023 on the site of the former Mutualité Française, this project required an investment of 14 million euros for the acquisition and renovation. “We just kept the framework of the building”indicated the director of the CPAM of Hérault, Philippe Trotabas.
With its 3,200 m² spread over six levels, it is part of the CPAM head office, welcoming 200 employees as well as 65 from the DRSM (Medical Control Service) Occitanie. Meeting rooms shared by the Gambetta and 32nd sites occupy 20% of the space.
“This open and inclusive place”as recalled by the president of the CPAM of Hérault, Éric Degoutin, is part of an eco-responsible and collaborative approach. Photovoltaic panels overlook the entrance and 20% of the offices are electric, allowing the working position to be modulated.
“The workspaces are partly shared and have been designed with our colleagues”underlined Philippe Trotabas.
“We must always defend Social Security”
“They become more and more open as you go up the floors”specified the architectural firm HSP-Architectes.
“It’s one less construction site in the city of Montpellier”joked Philippe Trotabas, addressing Mayor Michaël Delafosse. “I come because I need to have proof that the work has been completed”replied the latter in the same tone.
“In the imagination of Montpellier residents, the 32nd was the place of mutualist works, recalled the mayor. From the 1920s, social works were established here.”
“We must always defend Social Security, which plays an essential role in solidarity. I want to thank the director of the CPAM for supporting us in the implementation of the Municipal Mutual Fund.”
