the essential
On the occasion of the International Day Against Violence Against Women on November 25, the Affirmée association is in full preparations for all the events it is organizing throughout the month of November in Aveyron and the Lot .
A major awareness-raising action on the fight against violence against women will take place from Capdenac-Gare to Saint-Céré, via Figeac, Viviez, Cajarc or Brandonnet. “Wooden awareness panels in the shape of a white balloon will be displayed in ten municipalities in Lot and Aveyron with the following slogan: Don't let anyone extinguish your spark! “. They will be accompanied by a message of hope under each panel and will be displayed in strategic locations in partner municipalities, accompanied by posters at merchants.
“These panels were produced as part of the Petites grains workshops in Capdenac-Gare and Saint-Céré,” explains the association. “They were carried out as part of collective workshops with volunteers and beneficiaries, moments of sharing to escape isolation in a safe and caring place. An opportunity also to reconnect with society. »
This action echoes the traditional balloon release which takes place throughout France in tribute to women victims of violence. “This balloon symbolizes a final farewell to those who lost their lives too soon at the hands of their spouse or ex-spouse. »
A symbolic action
On the Capdenac-Gare and Figeac markets, Affirmée will be present from 8 a.m. on Saturday November 23 for this symbolic action of releasing balloons, which this year again will be accompanied by cards seeded with a little word of hope.
“This day is also a message of hope, a breath of solidarity for all women who, every day, fight to survive in the face of this suffering. » Awareness and information sessions will take place all morning with the sale of drinks for the benefit of the association and the creation of positive messages in tribute to the victims. At 12 p.m. the balloons will fly away before a shared friendship drink.
O women's cafe
In parallel with this flagship action, Affirmée invites everyone to participate in a special “O women’s café” for the month of November on the theme: Marital duty “fault or crime”.
The meetings are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Wednesday, November 13 in Viviez in the André Cayla room, Monday, November 18 in Figeac at L'Arrosoir, Thursday, November 21 in Saint-Céré in the multipurpose room. And a “Sharing Apéro” open to all will be held at the Capdenac-Gare media library on Friday, November 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Kathleen Biaz's commitment to supporting women victims of violence
Singer Kathleen Biaz will be present at the Capdenac-Gare market on Saturday November 23 with the Affirmée association. Having recently settled in the region, Kathleen Biaz is mobilizing in the fight against violence against women. She will perform her song “I chose to live” which evokes with accuracy and emotion this question of violence and the choice of freedom. “This year in France, hundreds of women saved their lives. Men have gotten out of toxic relationships. Children have been freed from patterns of violence and live in peace. To live is to choose, choose to live! “. Kathleen Biaz's performance on the Capdenac-Gare market will be broadcast live on the Figeac market at Place Vival.
