Significant pollution was detected this Friday, November 8, 2024 in the Meuse, near Mouzon, in the Ardennes.
The police were alerted around 12:30 p.m. by the abnormal color of the water, a milky white.
According to the newspaperArdennes, it is a accidental release latex by the company Adler Pelzer Grouplocated in the Sommer industrial zone.
The quantity of products spilled remains unknown at this time.
Sampling is underway to assess the environmental impacts on the aquatic environment.
The Regional Health Agency (ARS) also verifies that no municipal drinking water catchment is nearby, in order to guarantee the health safety of local residents.
