A Luxembourger, aged 35, was sentenced Tuesday by the criminal court to two years in prison, including one year suspended, for pimping, indicate our colleagues at Republican Lorraine. The man rented a large apartment in Audun-le-Tiche () for 4,500 euros per month and had fitted out eight rooms, which he sublet for 350 euros per week. A very lucrative business, which he had been “practicing” since April 2024.

The gendarmes discovered the situation on Sunday, November 3, after a complaint from a taxi driver, whose customer he had just dropped off in front of the apartment had left without paying. Summoned to appear before the Thionville criminal court for pimping, the man was subject to a direct appearance following his custody, despite a clean criminal record.

On the stand, the individual explained that he had first tried to launch his business in the Grand Duchy, but that it was “too complicated and more expensive”. He specified that he rented the rooms to Brazilian “friends”, to help them… In addition to his prison sentence, the thirty-year-old was sentenced to a ban on French territory for a period of ten years.
