It was a quick municipal council Tuesday June 4 at the town hall of Montmirail (Marne). Among the six points on the agenda, the first concerned a grant request from the firefighters association from the city. Without the amount being specified, left to the free will of elected officials, the firefighters justified this request by the cost of €8,947 generated by the organization of the events within the framework of the 200 years of their creation.

Presented by Valérie Jacquinot, 1st deputy mayor in charge of finances, this request was clarified up to €1,000. The debates were reduced to the strict minimum, although one voice was raised to increase the amount. She received no comments. Étienne Dhuicq specified that “municipalities in the region have also paid subsidies to the association”.

Put to the vote, this grant was unanimously approved by the municipal councilors present or represented.

The other points also voted on

The decision amending the budget took into account the expenditure of €3,187 for the purchase of dematerialization software for the municipal police, with the aim of accessing the impoundment service and the fines of offenders. Only one abstention, all the other councilors voted for.

For a seasonal increase in activity in the green space maintenance service for this summer, the proposal to create seasonal employment was unanimously approved.

A draw made it possible to select the nine residents registered on the electoral lists who could possibly be summoned as jurors.

Finally, two concessions “empty of all bodies” in the city cemetery were returned to the municipality.

This council began with the approval of the minutes of the previous session and ended with an exchange between the councilors and the mayor behind closed doors.
