Olivier Poitier has been elected president of the Canadian Club of Toronto (CCTO) for the 2024-25 season. He is co-founder of Upcare, a company specializing in the supply, implementation and clinical support of medical technologies in the field of neuroscience. Originally from France, he has been based in Toronto for 10 years.

Olivier Poitier succeeds Geneviève Grenier, president of the MonAvenir school board and vice-president of the Canadian Bankers Association, who remains a member of the Club’s board of directors.

The vote of directors elected at the annual meeting of February 14 was held on May 21, but announced on June 11. The new executive committee takes office immediately.

Business culture

“Together, with our new executive committee,” said the new president, “we will work with determination and passion to strengthen ties within our community and promote our Franco-Canadian culture in the business and academic spheres. , cultural and governmental.”

The CCTO was founded in 1986 by a group of leaders of the Toronto Francophonie to provide a monthly forum for speakers interested in major contemporary challenges. He also organizes some networking activities.

For seven years, its flagship annual event has been the RelèveON gala rewarding young entrepreneurs, executives and professionals. During the pandemic, he helped establish the Fédération des gens d’affaires francophones de l’Ontario.
