Several media outlets, reporting the comments of an opposition elected official, claim that the capital's HR department has a disproportionately high rate of absenteeism.
It’s a figure that many media outlets have made a big deal of. According to several of our colleagues, the HR department of the city of Paris displays a stratospheric absenteeism rate of 31%.
Thursday on TF1, Alba Ventura explained that opposition elected official Pierre-Yves Bournazel, close to Edouard Philippe, “scrupulously peeled [un rapport de la ville de Paris]. And what did he find? That in the human resources management department, where there are 400 agents, 135 are absent per day… Which makes an absenteeism rate of 31%… In human relations alone.” In l’Opinion the day before, journalist Emmanuelle Ducros wrote nothing else: «According to my little investigationthere are even Paris town hall services where the figures are through the roof. For example: the human resources department (the one who is supposed to keep an eye on things)… It has 400 agents. Their absenteeism rate is 31%. One in three goes missing every day.”
