The Renaissance candidate defeated in 2022 in the 5th constituency of Gard says she is ready to try again for deputation. Which is not the position of his counterpart in the other constituency of Alès.

“The RN risk is stronger than ever. This is the first reason why I said I was ok to leave.” Outgoing MP in 2022 for the 5th constituency of Gard (replacing Olivier Gaillard, who resigned in 2020), but beaten in the first round, Catherine Daufès-Roux confirmed that she wanted to go back into the campaign before the official publication of her name in the list of candidates. presidential majority candidates.

“It’s not a foregone conclusion, but given my convictions, I cannot leave a gap between LFI and the RN.” The candidate will thus find herself facing her successor, the LFI Michel Sala, who has already declared that he wants to run again. On the RN side, Jean-Marie Launay, the candidate defeated in the second round two years ago, indicated that he wanted to wait for official communication from his party before reacting.

On “circo 4”, Philippe Ribot does not try again

Also beaten in the first round in 2022 against Arnaud Bord (PS), and the winner Pierre Meurin (RN), Philippe Ribot decided to “favor the local”: “The timing is no longer the same. We are two years away from the municipal elections, I do not want to put my team in danger.” Mayor of Saint-Privat-des-Vieux but also president of the association of mayors of Gard, Philippe Ribot calls for a gathering of “moderate” against the extreme right: “The RN in power is really putting France in a catastrophic financial situation in the medium term.”

The candidate representing Renaissance in the constituency should be made official by this Wednesday, June 12. “We will have candidates everywhere”assures Valérie Rouverand, head of Emmanuel Macron’s party in Gard.

Among the RN, Pierre Meurin intends to keep his seat won two years ago. On the PS side, Arnaud Bord has already announced his intention to run again.
