[Mise à jour le 7 novembre 2024 à 14 h 40 : cet après-midi, une équipe de TF1 est présente pour réaliser un reportage sur le sujet.]
This Thursday, November 7, 2024, passers-by Pontivy can observe movement in the Blavet. This is not an open water swimming competition, but there are definitely divers.
But these are equipped: mask, oxygen bottle, black suit. There are two of them, immersing themselves in the watercourse. But for what reason?
Police fight against environmental damage
These two divers are gendarmes, from the nautical capacity brigade of Lézardrieux (Côtes-d'Armor).
Their role is defined by the major Cyril Thébaultcommander of the Quiberon nautical brigade and leader of the fight against attacks on the environment and public health.
They are looking for submerged objects of all kinds. Certain objects are preserved by the gendarmerie (laptops, computers, bags, cars, mopeds, etc.). Otherwise, we clean up (garbage bags, rubble, cans, illegal deposits, etc.)
This operation, called Own Territoryis one of more than twenty others organized this week in Morbihan. It can be maritime or terrestrial.
Note that in the department, there is an entire network of gendarmes dedicated to this fight for the environment. “The members are scattered throughout the territory,” specifies the major.
