The people of Lens and Brest have therefore reached an agreement. With compensation of an amount of 1.7 million euros, Julien The Cardinal is officially a Ty’Zefs player, next season, according to the newspaper L’Equipe. For the moment, the operation has not been made official even if it should be in the coming days.

Playing time in the Champions League for the Cardinal?

Arriving in 2022 at RC Lens, Julien Le Cardinal had struggled to establish himself in the Sangs et Ors squad. The native of Saint-Brieuc had therefore been loaned to the Breton club with the aim of giving him playing time. The French defender therefore played a few matches under the orders of Éric Roy, during the 2023-2024 season. The Cardinal even played all the Coupe de France minutes with his team.

With the transfer of Lilian Brassier to Olympique de Marseille approaching, Julien Le Cardinal could get playing time in the Team Pirate squad. Thanks to the magnificent season of the Brestois, he could even be part of the club’s participation in Champions League, next season. A good reward for a player who has the confidence of coach Éric Roy. Julien Le Cardinal is already expected at training with the Ty’Zefs tomorrow morning.
