The “Amicale de la Tour du Crieu 09” association is organizing a solidarity weekend ahead of the national Telethon.
As the Telethon approaches, which will officially be held on November 29 and 30, the Amicale de La Tour-du-Crieu 09 is kicking off with a festive and supportive weekend on November 16 and 17. A strong moment of mobilization for this association, which is organizing a meal open to all, on Saturday November 16 at 12:30 p.m., in the multi-activity room of La Tour/Lasserre. For €20, participants will be able to enjoy a hearty meal whose preparation benefited from an additional gesture of solidarity: the caterer offers the cost of the labor.
The next day, Sunday November 17, the atmosphere will be one of music and dancing from 2:30 p.m. in the La Tour/Lasserre multipurpose room. Entrance is free, everyone is invited to donate according to their means in support of the fight against rare diseases. The Continental Big Band from the Pamiers Conservatory will open the festivities with lively jazz tunes, before passing the torch to the Pamiers seniors club and its wild line dances. The Texas Dancers 09 from Varilhes will close the afternoon with country dances, to the delight of Far-West fans.
For the curious and history buffs, an exhibition of Jeeps from the Second World War by the Occitanie Rullac association will also be presented. Stands selling books, resin craft objects, embroidery made by Murielle Larrazet, head of the administrative and financial center of Telethon 09 and bouquets of flowers, made by volunteers, will make it possible to contribute to the Telethon while offering unique souvenirs. Local authors Luce Chanot and Jean Labatut will be present for signing sessions.
Marcelle Matéo, president of Amicale 09, and her team of volunteers are preparing a warm welcome for this major meeting. Without a doubt, November 16 and 17 will be a new demonstration of the unwavering support of the Amicale La Tour-du-Crieu 09 for research and the fight against neuromuscular diseases and other rare genetic diseases.
