They had been arrested while drunk on the night of Monday 4 to Tuesday 5 November. Three men were sentenced, Thursday, November 7, for stealing a goat from the Bintinais ecomuseum in the south of Rennes, before slitting its throat and cutting it into pieces, reports news Rennes Frédéric Taillet, Rennes prosecutor.
“They wanted to have a barbecue”
Aged 21, 32 and 41, the three individuals admitted the facts, continues the magistrate. “They explained wanted to have a barbecue because they were hungry. »
The criminal record of each bears three mentions for offenses such as theft, violence and traffic offences.
6 months in prison
On the instructions of the Rennes public prosecutor's office, they were brought in court on prior admission of guilt on Thursday morning. They were tried for meeting flight factsto which are added the abuse or acts of cruelty having resulted in the death of the animal for the person who slaughtered it.
As part of this procedure, they were sentenced to:
- Six months of fixed imprisonment (adjustable).
- 500 euros fine.
- Ban on possessing or carrying a weapon for two years.
- Banned from appearing at the Écomusée de Rennes for two years.
This case reminds the theft of a ram in Rennes last September. Since then, the animal has still not been found.
