Until now, Danièle Ruault, retired, heated herself comfortably with gas without thinking too much about her bill. But on July 1, the latter will increase by 11.7%. We did the math with her. Until now, Danièle paid on average 245 euros per month. From next July, it will be 273 euros, in clear terms, 28 euros more. The only solution for her is to lower the heating by 2°C and thus hope to reduce costs. Why such an increase even though the price of gas has fallen over the last two years? To understand it, you have to break down its price. In each invoice, you pay for the raw material, the gas, the taxes, but also the transport cost and it is the latter which is soaring even though it had been stable for four years. Concretely, the fewer consumers there are, the more expensive the gas is to transport. And this is not going to get better, because the number of subscriber households continues to decline, minus 200,000 in the last two years. A word of advice: compare prices and use the competition to reduce the bill as much as possible. TF1 | Report C. Dewaegeneire, F. Moncelle, J. Bervillé
