A need in the face of “Eastern economic dynamism”
As a reminder, this development in eastern Lyon through the future T8 tram line will offer residents a dozen stations. The planned route is 8.1 km long. The cost is estimated at 245 million euros. It will notably improve service to the Porte des Alpes campus and “will support the urban projects planned on the Carré de Soie, on the priority district of the Bron-Terraillon city policy and on the changing district around the Vénissieux train station“, explains, among others, Bruno Bernard.
As for the extension of the BRT, it “will contribute to strengthening the economic dynamism of the East, will improve access to the Porte des Alpes campus and will allow a mix of functions with residential development, in certain sectors“, promises Béatrice Vessiller, vice-president of the Métropole de Lyon and Sytral Mobilities.
