Eligible for full autonomy on July 1, forward Max Domi says he wants to stay with the Toronto Maple Leafs and we will have to see if his wish will be granted.
About a week ago, the daily “Toronto Sun” reported that the demands of the agent of the former Montreal Canadiens, Judd Moldaver (who also represents the interests of Auston Matthews), were too high for taste of the organization of the Queen City. The son of ex-Maple Leaf Tie Domi completed his one-year, $3 million contract signed last summer and delivered interesting performances, particularly in the playoffs.

Questioned by the same newspaper in recent days, the main interested party confirmed the holding of talks with the club. He is crossing his fingers that an agreement will be reached soon.
“I know my agent talked. However, I must keep these conversations confidential. No matter what happens, I enjoyed every second of being a Leaf. I would like to come back, because it is a special organization. The group of players is just as much,” he commented.
A respected face
If he returns to the Toronto fold, Domi will play under the orders of recently hired head coach Craig Berube. He had the opportunity to fight a few fights with Tie Domi and he is already a respected face among his future troops, specifies the 29-year-old hockey player.

In 2023-2024, Domi collected nine goals and 38 assists for 47 points in 80 games, while receiving 118 penalty minutes.
