The Association québécoise de pédagogie collegiale (AQPC) is pleased to announce the names of the four winners of the excellence awards presented during the 43e edition of its annual conference. In fact, these people received their prize in Gatineau on June 5, 6 and 7.

This year, the Gérald-Sigouin Prize is awarded to Mr. Bernard Dionne, who has worked in the college network as a teacher, author, designer of educational activities and educational advisor. Mr. Dionne has more than 25 years of teaching experience and has contributed significantly to the development of a policy and methodological guides for college studies and research, notably through the publication of his book, To succeed: guide methodology for studies and research, which has gone through nine editions and supported more than 400,000 students. This prize is awarded to him to reward his passion for learning, his desire to transmit and his desire to contribute to educational success through the continuous improvement of teaching practices.

The Vector Pedagogical Prize is awarded to Mme Andrea Cooperberg, educational advisor expert in pedagogy, educational potential and blended learning at Cégep John Abbott. She plays a key role in the educational innovation development team, which has enabled a fundamental transformation within the establishment. This award is given to her to highlight her ability to inspire and innovate as well as to reward the remarkable way in which she supports the teaching staff.

The winner of the Recognition of Continuing Training and Business Services (FCSAE) award Mme Caroline Boulay, a committed person who, for more than twenty years, has offered a collaborative vision essential to the deployment of innovative initiatives. Ms. Boulay has held several roles and is now director of continuing education and business services at Cégep Garneau where she is recognized by her peers for the exceptional quality of her work and her inclusive vision. The FCSAE Recognition Award is awarded to him for his spirit of innovation and his desire to push the boundaries of teaching and learning.

Mme Julie Brousseau, pharmacist and teacher in the new Pharmacy Techniques study program at Cégep Limoilou, is awarded the 2024 New Teacher prize for her considerable contribution to educational and collegial life as well as for her positive influence in the deployment of This program. His openness to challenges allowed him to stand out and think about new educational strategies in order to make the training stimulating. The Young Teacher prize is given to Ms. Brousseau to reward her significant positive influence and her considerable educational contribution, two qualities already noted despite her recent arrival in the teaching world.

In addition, 65 people each received an Honorable Mention from the AQPC 2024. These awards highlight the educational commitment of faculty members who, through the quality of their work, have contributed to the evolution of education.

This year’s edition was a great success thanks to its 1,860 participants. The team from Cégep de l’Outaouais and Cégep Heritage College brilliantly assisted the Association during the three days. A huge thank you to the management and all the volunteers of these two host colleges.
