Fruit of a in-depth reflection and a long consultation work with the actors involved, elected officials of the territory to socio-professional categories passing through the associationsthe inhabitants, but also the State and all techniciansthe Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park has revealed the main axes of its new charter 2026-2041. Presented to the press at the end of October, this new charter will be submitted to a vote by the union committee on next Saturday November 9.

Global changes
“The consequences of global changestant social and climatic are perceptible,” notes Françoise Vespa, president of the Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park. ” THE Jura massif is not spared : decrease in snowfalllocal overcrowding, land pressure, erosion of biodiversityenergy demand, mobility experienced, forest diebackdrought, risk of fires », she lists again in an introduction to this document.
Mitigation and adaptability
Faced with this dark observationestablished in consultation with all stakeholders, the new charter of the PNR of Haut Jura, aims to offer a founding vision for the next fifteen yearsfocusing this roadmap around two priority areas: “mitigation” and “adaptability”.
“It is together that we have shared the observation of very rapid changes and it is together that we will be able to carry out, with the Park, ambitious, inspiring and innovative actions for Haut-Jura”continues Françoise Vespa.
The new charter – a document which, however, has no regulatory power – aims more to convince than to constrain, by setting objectives to be achieved in terms of protection, enhancement, and development of the territory of the Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park.
The document which will be submitted to the vote of the elected representatives of the union committee will make it possible to sanctuariser for the next fifteen years, a series of actions aimed at protecting and enhancing the natural heritage, while developing a sustainable economy and improving quality of life of the inhabitants.
“Everyone’s project”
It will be like this, for protect et value natural heritage, to preserve the natural habitatsto fight against climate change and to make efforts to promote biodiversity. This charter will also be a commitment to support agricultural, forestry and tourist activities more environmentally friendlyto encourage circuits courts and the development of renewable energies on the territory.
Finally preserve the landscapespromote soft mobility, support culture et strengthen social ties are all actions included in the 2024-2046 charter to improve the quality of life of residents.
“This charter is everyone’s project”supports French Vespa. “The Jura mountains must remain an inspiring territory, anchored in its history and resolutely turned towards the future”concludes the president, a few days before its validation.
