Partial legislative in Isère: the PS withdraws, there will be a single candidate on the left

There will be a single candidacy on the left in the first constituency of Isère. A meeting between local members of the PS and party boss Olivier Faure validated the thing this Tuesday evening. The PS therefore agrees to support the candidacy of Lyes Louffok, invested by La Insoumise. Amandine Germain withdraws her candidacy.

“So as not to divide the left”

Lyes Louffok will be the candidate of the New Popular Front. Amandine Germain explains her withdrawal “out of a spirit of responsibility, so as not to divide the left. I'm a little disappointed but I don't make it personal.” She will support Lyes Louffok and participate in his campaign. France Insoumise therefore retains a rebellious candidate in this constituency won by Hugo Prevost last July but since excluded from the party after accusations of sexual violence against him.

The other declared candidates

We still do not know the date of this partial legislative election in the first constituency of Isère but we now see much more clearly about the candidates. In addition to Lyes Louffok, Camille Galliard-Minier will be a candidate for the Macronists. Olivier Véran not representing himself, he announced to support his former deputy who became an MP when the latter entered the government. On the Republican right, Nathalie Béranger is again a candidate. Just like Rémi Adam for Lutte Ouvrière. Finally, a newcomer has entered the dance in recent hours: the lawyer and former president of Crif Hervé Gerbi.
