Gramat. Collège Sainte Hélène: An exchange with Canada that arouses envy

From May 17 to 25, the seventeen young people from the Champagnat School in Lévis, Quebec, were welcomed at the Sainte-Hélène college and in the families of their twins whom they had already met during the Gramatois’ stay in Lévis. in February-March.

In addition to the program of visits which allowed them to discover magnificent sites of which the Lot is full, or also linked to Gramat and the history of the college, the young Levisians in turn took part in courses with their correspondents. Their participation allowed for great exchanges. All classes of the college were able to benefit from their presence and a presentation of the school in Canada. Small anecdote, the young Lévis residents were surprised, and their teacher and leisure technician delighted, to find that cell phones were prohibited!

Real friendships were born between the twins and very strong bonds were also forged within the families. It must be said that, for their part, the Quebec families were also more than exceptional! Thanks to a private Facebook group, they were able to follow almost live the Lot and Lévis adventures experienced by their children.

Michel Sylvestre, mayor of Gramat, surrounded by elected officials and personalities, also welcomed these young people during a reception in the village hall. Given the success of this first exchange, the enthusiasm it generated and according to the wishes of the professor and the head of the establishment who started this project, a second edition is planned for 2026.
