In recent days, Place Diderot has found “its” cobblestones, its lights and its pedestrians. Relief !

The deadlines initially announced could have seemed audacious, even reckless. And yet the first phase of the work, started on January 2, was completed on the scheduled date, namely May 31. And this, thanks to weather, certainly capricious but not too annoying, good coordination of service providers at the network level and above all remarkable work carried out by the Martel company.

Move around, there’s everything to see!

In fact, it was necessary to remove the old paving stones (poorly laid only ten years ago!), to take the opportunity to work on the burials, then to cover the whole thing with a new covering.

Aesthetically, the result is very attractive. A place which is now back in circulation, with the temporary exception (for a few days) of a small part giving access to rue du Grand-Cloître. “A small delay only due to drying time of the base on which the paving stones rest “, specifies Benoît Collin, director of technical services for the city.

Pedestrian space
