In the message that Pope Francis addresses to us on this occasion, he reminds us: Christian hope also embraces the certainty that our prayer reaches the presence of God; but not just any prayer: the prayer of the poor! Let us reflect on this Word and “read” it on the faces and in the stories of the poor whom we encounter during our days, so that prayer becomes a path of communion with them and of sharing their suffering.
On the journey towards the Holy Year, I urge everyone to become a pilgrim of hope, giving tangible signs of a better future.
The prayer of the poor rises to God. Pope Francis
This day is an appointment for each ecclesial community, to promote meeting and happy and fraternal dialogue. She invites us to call on our various communities to dare to engage in diakonia concerned with the poorest.
