Running: the colors of Athletics Lozère in Narbonne, Marseille-Cassis and even Venice

Last weekend, Athletics Lozère runners took the start of several events.

The Foulées du parc, in (Aude), brought together some 1,000 runners over 10 km. A race certified by the French Athletics Federation, it allowed Édouard Rubio to obtain qualification for the next French championship over the distance. He finished 14ein 33'59, ranking him interregional 4.

-Cassis

20,000 competitors were at the start of the classic Marseille-Cassis race, created in 197, by a team from the SCO Sainte-Marguerite which had attended the first editions of the Marvejols-Mende and wanted to set up the same type of course .

This same type of course suited the Rwandan Félicien Muhitira who, after winning the Marvejols-Mende four times and finishing second twice, triumphed in this edition of the Marseille-Cassis 2024.

Among these 20,000 competitors, a team from Athletics Lozère joined Marseille in Cassis, happily passing the Col de la Gineste.

Very good performance from Adeline Roy who finished her race in 1h 25'02, ranking 36e in women's scratch and 9e master 0 woman. She is ahead of her club mate Jean-Baptiste Cellier by a few seconds, 1 h 24'56.72e master 1.

Venice

The same day, Athletics Lozère was represented in Venice in the half-marathon, the route between town and seaside, passing winding streets, canals and fourteen bridges to cross, proved difficult. Yannick Valinas finishes this half marathon in 1h 36'20.253e scratch and 3e French in her master 0 category and Katia Rodrigues, in 2 h 06'35, 1,949e et 11e French in M0.
