The Eure SPA shelter, in Évreux, is in mourning. Hermine and Smarthies, two senior doggies, died the same day.

“A few days ago we sadly lost two of our residents, grandpa and grandma, who deserved to have a good retirement, but who unfortunately did not have this chance”regrets the Ebroician refuge.

Carried away by cancer

“Our grandmother Hermine arrived at the shelter already old. She suffered from cancer which ultimately took her life. She will not have had the chance to be cared for by a family who could have given her the support she needed. Grandma no longer had the strength to fight. She let herself go into her cold box. A hard blow for the people who took care of her and moved heaven and earth to find her a new home, to her who had given love to humans all her life. »

The big mop

The SPAE also deplores the death of its “papinou d’amour” Smarthies. He had left with his family, but following a vigilance problem, Smarthies had gone wandering and was not lucky enough to come back alive… “We will miss our dear and tender love. This failed act, this departure which ultimately will have been the last, tears our hearts and reminds us that the adoption of an animal must be done in the best conditions to protect it and so that it can continue on its path as quickly as possible. possible for a long time with loving parents who will love him. »

The loss of these two deans is obviously heartbreaking for the SPAE. “Our little old people, those who have given their whole lives to humans, really do not deserve to end their lives in the shelter and yet, they find themselves there most often through human ingratitude. So don't forget them and watch them to give them the recognition they deserve. »
