Serious accident – This Saturday, a 16-year-old young man was seriously injured while driving his agricultural machine in Mortain
The accident took place around 8 a.m. this Saturday in Mortain, in the Manche department, according to information fromActu.fr. A 16-year-old teenager was driving his tractor when his machine fell heavily, eight meters, on the outskirts of rue du Pont-Bossard.
While the young boy's vehicle overturned on the roof, the victim still managed to escape from the passenger compartment. On the other hand, the teenager was seriously injured and had to be airlifted to Avranches hospital.
Significant resources committed to securing the perimeter
Given the seriousness of the accident, a major system was implemented to secure the scene and take care of the young man. Thus, 26 firefighters were dispatched to the site. The latter all came from the barracks of Avranches, Ger, Juvigny and Saint-Hilaire. The Samu teams were also on site.
While the agricultural machine was still turned over, a large diesel leak was discovered. A land dam was therefore put in place to prevent pollution of the watercourse called La Cance, which is not far from the accident site.
