The Italian house Gucci has a new human resources director: Francesco Falai. The current senior vice-president of the People Retail and Business division is promoted to Chief People Officer of human resources as of January, indicates the Meet and Match headhunter firm's website.
According to his Linkedin account, Francesco Falai joined Gucci in January 2017 as HR Retail & Omnichannel Director. In 2018, he was promoted to Global People Director, whose role saw him lead the development of inclusive development plans across the company as well as leading the creation of the Gucci experience Garden.
The appointment of Francesco Falai comes a few weeks after that of Valérie Leberichel, who joins Gucci as senior vice president of global communications. These announcements are part of a renewal of the Gucci label (Kering group) which has been experiencing a decline in sales for several seasons.
As a reminder, in July 2023, Jean-François Palus was appointed general manager of Gucci with “the main objective of laying the foundations for the new chapter opened by Gucci and recruiting key talents, including his successor”, indicated the label in a press release announcing the appointment of his successor, Stefano Cantino, in October 2024.
