HAS Hollywood, it is no longer good to have a critical look at Donald Trump. Sebastian Stan, who plays the billionaire who is not yet head of state in The Apprenticeby Ali Abbasi, has just had the bitter experience of this. The actor, invited by the professional magazine Variety to participate in his TV show Actors on Actors (discussions between two actors and/or actresses about their most recent roles, broadcast during the Oscar election campaign), revealed Wednesday, November 20, that he had to give it up. The reason? Nobody wanted to talk to him. “I am not accusing anyone in particular, said Sebastian Stanthe fact remains that we were unable to get past the barrage of agents and press officers who represent [les acteurs sollicités] because they were too afraid to talk about the film ». One of the editors-in-chief of VarietyRamin Setoodeh, confirmed to IndieWire that the “talents” in question “didn’t want to talk about Donald Trump”.

There was recently an editorial from New York Times very interesting, who said that “We need to stop pretending that Trump is not one of us.” […] You can't write this person off, especially after they've won the popular vote. Shouldn't we take a closer look and try to understand what motivates her? »
Sebastian Stan got the support of his director, Ali Abbasi, who on X published this pithy comment: “This is what we are facing!” » Filmmaker Adam McKay (author of Vicea biopic of former American Vice President Dick Cheney which criticized support for Donald Trump) expressed his anger: “It’s sickeninghe wrote on X. The only way to overcome what lies ahead is to show extreme solidarity. It's exactly the opposite here. Shame on these actors and agents. Shame. » Sebastian Stan's colleagues, for the moment, remain very discreet…
