The next Ghab conference will be entitled “Notre-Dame de Paris, a heroic recovery” and will exceptionally take place on Friday, November 8 in the Buzançais village hall. It will be Benjamin Mouton, the former chief architect of Notre-Dame de Paris, also general inspector of historical monuments, member of the scientific council for the restoration of Notre-Dame.
On April 15, 2019, Notre-Dame de Paris was engulfed in flames. The medieval framework, the vault and the 19th century spiree century collapses. The fire aroused immense emotion throughout the world followed by an outpouring of solidarity and generosity. After this tragedy, the restoration of this jewel of our heritage was faced with several challenges and its reopening to the public will take place in a few weeks. Indeed, in a little over a month, Notre-Dame Cathedral will reopen its doors. Culmination of five years of a heroic and uncompromising epic dedicated from the first days to the rescue then to historical and technical research, to intensive work, day and night, driven by uncompromising demands, which will restore the majesty of the cathedral to its admirers , finding with the means of the 21e century the spirit and fervor of the great construction sites of the Middle Ages.
