Created in 2019, the Culture and Leisure association in Solférino offers various activities and events in order to promote, as its name suggests, culture and leisure among the inhabitants of Solférino, for a membership of 10 euros per household per year. Isabelle Gréaume, president elected in 2023, and the volunteers wish to create conviviality within the village.

It starts on Wednesday evening with this year's new feature: singing. From 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in the village hall, this course (count 10 euros per month in addition to membership), initiated by a singing teacher from the Conservatory, has already attracted 17 people. “We want to welcome more people,” says Nicole, apprentice singer and secretary of the association.

Sewing, dancing or guitar

On Friday, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., the sewing and knitting activity takes place in the associations room. The association has equipped itself with two sewing machines and hopes to expand its team of “little hands”. Whether amateur or seasoned, all seamstresses are welcome to share their work.

It is then line dancing that takes over the premises for a class of 18 to 19 hours to the rhythm of a Madison, a country or even a waltz for example.

Finally, on Saturdays, between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., a guitar lesson is offered, whether you are a beginner or not. “Apart from the singing lesson, the other speakers are volunteers, which means that we only have to pay the price of membership,” explains Isabelle.

In addition to these weekly activities, several events are planned. A creators' market will take place on December 15 in the association hall. Then, to start 2025, a tea dance with musician Jacky Dumartin will be organized on January 5. During the year, there will be karaoke, a garage sale, an exhibition, an Easter egg hunt, among others.
