Already installed at Lieusaint with its platform Acti+dedicated to the socio-professional inclusion of people with disabilities, theUgecam (Union for the management of health insurance fund establishments), Health Insurance health operator, will soon have a new building in the Senartaise commune.

Opening planned for 2028

At the end of September, the EPA Sénart (public development establishment) and Ugecam signed the deed of sale of the land, located behind the Carré Sénartwhich will welcome the future rehabilitation centerplanned for 2028. This ambitious project, designed by AIA Life Designers, will notably allow the relocation of the Coubert center and the expansion of new care activities.

With its 249 health and medico-social establishments and services and 14,350 committed employees, the Ugecam group treats and supports people (children, adolescents, adults and the elderly) who are medically and socially weakened by illness or disability. This new rehabilitation center should respond to crucial public health issues, particularly in terms of accessibility, quality of care, modernization of infrastructure and integration of inter-hospital synergies.

Relocate Coubert to a new, much more functional building

Julie Gaceus, communications and animation manager

Installed behind Carré Sénart over 30,000 m2 of land, with 17,000 m2 of floor space, the future center provides, among other things, 219 full hospitalization beds, 100 day hospitalization places and 90 home hospitalization places and will accommodate 500 group employees.

“The idea is to relocate the Coubert center to a new building, much more functional, with a project of high environmental quality,” explains Julie Gaceus, communications and animation manager, who has worked at the center for around twenty years. rehabilitation of Coubert. First there was the CRP (Professional Rehabilitation Center), which moved to Lieusaint in 2021, becoming Acti+, and there, it will be for all the activities that remained at Coubert. We will keep our 220 beds, but this will allow us to go from 40 to 100 day beds, but above all, to work in another environment. We must recognize that, although we were all very attached to Coubert, the premises were aging and this made certain things complex on a daily basis.”

In consideration for several years, this moving project and new building will therefore see the light of day at the beginning of 2028. “We are currently in the final preliminary project phase,” adds Julie Gaceus. The sale of the land is obviously a strong marker. The building permit should be submitted at the end of 2024, beginning of 2025. We are still working with architects and professionals. There, it becomes really concrete, even if it is on plans. Everyone will have to come to terms with the idea of leaving Coubert. But we are moving towards better, at all levels, whether for patient care or for the work of caregivers. And being near Carré Sénart will also be a big plus. We already had a partnership with the Théâtre Sénart, but it was not always easy to take patients there. There, we'll be right next door. People who come to see patients will be able to eat in restaurants, go out…”

What future for Coubert?

Arriving from Fontainebleau hospital in 1981 in Coubert, the rehabilitation center will therefore experience a new stage by settling in Lieusaint. There remains the question of the future of the Coubert rehabilitation center, route de Liverdy, whose buildings belong to Ugecam. “We don’t yet know what will become of them,” admits Julie Gaceus. Discussions will be carried out later to see what use will be reserved for them…”
