Haute-Loire. Work on the RN88 and RN102: 8.5 million euros budget

The projects, launched at the beginning of January on the RN102 and the RN88, aim to “ensure the sustainability of the roads regarding the carriageways, structures and outbuildings”. This work, some of which is still in progress, is financed by the DIR Massif Central network and the Haute-Loire department to the tune of 8.5 million euros for the year 2024.

The RN88 disrupted this summer

Started on April 22, the road maintenance and security work on national road 88 ended at the end of May. They concerned the 2 × 2 lane section between the 49 interchange at Fay-La-Triouleyre to the Monteil half-interchange: “We installed sleeves under the shoulder and renewed the treads to the height of the exit from Puy-en-Velay towards Blavozy”, comments Éric Coste, operations manager of the DIR Massif central.

“In this same sector, we will change the vertical signage between the end of August and the beginning of September. This concerns Plaisance towards the Monteil interchange to that of Saint-Étienne-Lardeyrol. Masts and jibs will be changed. It will disrupt traffic a little, but I want to say that we are not doing this to annoy people. It’s for their safety. »

The village of La Besse, commune of Yssingeaux, will also be affected from September 3. The treads will be renewed. The project will last three weeks in both directions of traffic.

From September 4, the south of Pradelles will also undergo work. Three weeks will be devoted to resurfacing the roadway. Alternating traffic will be installed.

A “low carbon” operation on the RN102

Started on May 15, the operation entitled “low carbon” on the RN102 will continue until August 15. Road repair work is underway in the municipalities of Loudes, Chaspuzac, Sanssac-l’Église and Vergezac over a distance of eight kilometers “A diversion is in place for heavy goods vehicles from June 3 to 28 in order to avoid the deterioration of the new asphalt,” explains Éric Coste.

Speed is limited to 50 km/h in this sector with overtaking prohibited. On the side of the commune of Saint-Georges-d’Aurac, the two-layer covering of the road began on June 5 for three days of work, traffic is also alternating in this sector.
