The choir of Saint-Vincent de Xaintes hosts, Monday November 4, at 8:30 p.m. a concert by the Dacquois ensemble Gospel in Landes. Directed by Charles-Henri Roux, the mixed group will evolve in its preferred register, performed a cappella. No less than 17 titles, some of which are known and appreciated for this autumn concert distilled into two parts. Popular song from southern Africa, “Shosholoza” will set the rhythm for the opening followed by “I'll fly away” (A joyful morning when life ends, I will fly away), and “Give me Jesus”… We will find the tribute to Mary with “Hail Holy Queen”, and the famous gospel song by Sister Act, “I will follow him”. Worked this year, “Ride on Moses”, created by the Golden Gate Quartet, expands the register: “Move forward Moses to hear the people sing and pray”.
The second part is reserved for the essentials of the genre: “Ride the chariot” (symbol of liberation and salvation), “Why don’t you” (join us in the house of the Lord), “Lead me on”, “Little David”, who slew Goliath, “Shadrack” (the children of Israel). The joy and happiness of “Happy Day” will close this moment of singing communion.
