Rostane Mehdi was appointed rector of the Réunion academy on October 23 at the Council of Ministers. He returned to school this Thursday, October 31. First trip, first exchanges at the Lycée Georges Brassens in Moufia.
Rostane Mehdi occupies the position of rector for the first time. “It is a wonder for me to be here. This is a considerable challenge for me. I approach with confidence and serenity. The trust given to me, the welcome given by the educational community. “
For his first day, he visited the Georges Brassens high school, as part of orientation week. “I really feel that my mission is placed under the best care.”
Files also await him, continuing from his predecessor: “There is the professional path, it is learning a profession, having skills which allow integration, maintaining the high level of groups of needs, it is the mastery of fundamental knowledge. We cannot imagine academic success and integration if we do not master fundamental knowledge. There are also the values of the Republic, the question of multilingualism, more directly the question of Creole as an obvious leverage effect on the acquisition of broader linguistic skills. We are here in a logic which consists of connecting our students as best as possible to the world ”
