He will not be free for very long. A 26-year-old man, who was released from prison only a few weeks ago, was sentenced on Tuesday in immediate appearance to 10 months' imprisonment for drug trafficking. He was arrested last Sunday early in the afternoon in Plaisir by personnel from the departmental intervention company (CDI).
When their patrol arrived that day in the Valibout district, near a listed deal point, the police were alerted by the cries of an individual. Another then comes out of the bushes and immediately runs away. The police decided to pursue the young man on foot and ended up stopping him a few hundred meters away.
Inside the bag he carried over his shoulder, the CDI men discovered numerous sachets of weed – almost 70 g in total – and around 220 g of cannabis resin. But also 250 euros in small denominations. However, it is impossible for them to get their hands on the sheet of paper that the young man hides in his sock, and which he manages to swallow during his security search.
During his hearings, the young man admitted to having had the role of “supplier” of narcotics that day. In the past, he had also been a lookout in the neighborhood. He also explained to the police that the sheet of paper contained accounts that he was ordered to destroy.
