It is on July 4 that the launch of the 3rd edition of the Lot’ochtone gourmet market will take place, which will take place every Thursday in July and August, on the Place de Saint-Daunès, commune of Barguelonne-en- Quercy.

With its retro decoration, its large tables covered with gingham tablecloths, its decorative panels and its pennants, this market, organized by the Saint-Daunès festival committee and by the associative café A bistrot de nas, has been able to develop and retain its loyalty. customer base. Its approach consists of surrounding itself with local producers and artisans offering quality products. Last year it became one of the first gourmet markets in the Lot to be labeled an eco-responsible market by the Syded du Lot.

As Maxime Gazaud, president of the associative café and head of the organization, indicates, “the big news this year, as an extension of our approach aimed at drastically reducing our waste, is the ban on disposable containers and cutlery, even recyclable or compostable, to set up the all-reusable in connection with the fifteen exhibitors present and the Syded 46. This measure, among many others, will make us the first gourmet market in the Lot and Occitanie in take part in such an extensive process. »

Eight concerts and entertainment all summer

Lot’ochtone is not just a gourmet market. The event is intended to be festive with a series of eight concerts which will punctuate the meal. On July 4, Guitare Street will offer rock from the 1980s and 90s. On the program for July 11, pop rock and soul with Stéréolux. On July 18, it will be rumba-latino with Caledjo and on July 25 Ab Fabba and pop from the 60s and 80s. Every Thursday in August, varied musical universes will alternate with pop-rock, musette, a world tavern and Irish folk rock, to combine music, gastronomy and conviviality.

Activities will punctuate the summer season. On July 4, on the market, Syded facilitators will offer educational workshops on waste sorting. On July 11 and August 1, at 6 p.m., at the Saint-Daunès restaurant “L’École”, you can discover the secrets of truffle and saffron with Jean-Jacques Fourès and André Baussac (registration required), then taste in evening a menu created by the chef of “L’École” around these two products. Finally, on August 22, on the market, the Gazaud family will demonstrate the making of old-fashioned curbelets, these rolled waffles that have made the Saint-Daunésienne biscuit factory famous since 1967.
