While waiting for the Olympic flame to pass through Arenberg on July 2, the CAPH has set up a sports event during the weekend.

Four major events are taking place in the Porte du Hainaut region before the Olympic flame passes through the Arenberg mining site on July 2.

The first stage of this sporting spring took place in Bouchain on Saturday May 18 and Sunday May 19 at the Bassin Rond. Then “Hainaut’lympic”, the name given to the sporting event, was on the side of Thun-Saint-Amand recently.

On the weekend of June 1st and 2nd, it was the turn of the Leisure and Nature Park of La Porte du Hainaut to host this tour on the theme of the Olympic Games.

Last Olympic meeting

Finally, this Saturday June 8 and Sunday June 9, “Hainaut’lympic” will be present on the Place des Acacias in Abscon. Here again, several sporting activities will be available to practice or discover for free: badminton, balance bike, fencing, e-sports, handball, hip-hop (workshops and shows), rugby, volleyball and zumba.

The Olympic flame arrived in Marseille on May 8. She was welcomed by more than 150,000 spectators at the Old Port, in the presence of Emmanuel Macron, President of the Republic. The Olympics will be celebrated from July 26 to August 11 in Paris with 32 sporting disciplines.
