Record broken this Sunday June 2 at Pont du Gard! 24,711 rubber ducks were sponsored during the Nemausus Duck Race. Sponsorship for the benefit of the pediatric department of the Nîmes University Hospital and the Belle et Rose cancer association.

They left their bathtubs for a run in the open air. Plastic ducks were thrown into the Gardon this Sunday, June 2, during the Nemausus Duck Race, organized by Rotary. And there were many… very many!

The French record of 22,561 palmipeds racing has even been surpassed. There were in fact 24,711 to compete at the Pont du Gard.

Each duck is sponsored to the tune of 3 euros by the spectators. The prizes will be won for the first to arrive and, for everyone, the opportunity to do a good deed.

Even if we don’t win the race, it doesn’t matter, it’s for a good cause

Around 50,000 euros of the 74,000 euros collected will in fact be donated to the pediatric department of the Nîmes University Hospital and to the Belle et Rose association for the fight against breast cancer. “It gives us visibility, making us known to patients who we can support. Obviously, it’s also financial help”, explains Marlène Gallouedec, president of Belle et Rose. Great causes carried by little yellow ducks. And the solidarity of the Gardois.
