Max Domi has never hidden that he would like to continue his association with the Toronto Maple Leafs, but it seems that there is water in the gas.

The former Montreal Canadiens forward wore the colors of the Queen City club in 2023-2024, after signing a one-year contract worth $3 million with this organization. He could become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

According to the daily “Toronto Sun”, the demands of Domi’s agent would be too high for the Leafs’ tastes. Columnist Steve Simmons even suggests that the hockey player should fire his representative if he wants to wear the maple leaf again.

In 80 games this season, Domi has hit the target nine times and provided 38 assists for 47 points. He also collected four points in seven playoff games.

On Saturday, NHL Network reporter and analyst David Pagnotta reported that contract negotiations between the Leafs and Bertuzzi had begun. This doesn’t bode well for Domi…
