National Day: Bleu Jeans Bleu and Dumas will make Longueuil dance

With Dumas’ challenge to “make people dance in French” and the well-known catchy tunes of Bleu Jeans Bleu, the shows on June 23 and 24 in Longueuil promise to be festive.

Longueuil returns for a second consecutive year to the formula of two shows, in the Arr. Vieux-Longueuil and Saint-Hubert.

Dumas will headline the St. Mark’s Park show on June 23.

“It’s something very precious, it’s an opportunity to come together, to sing and dance in French. I’ve done a lot since then and each time, it’s special,” said Dumas during the unveiling on May 28.

“Maybe you will even hear the mayor sing, because I know she knows a few songs,” he added, after Catherine Fournier admitted to being “particularly a fan” of his music.

The first part will be provided by Marilyn Léonard. The animation was entrusted to Raphaël Provost, general director of Ensemble pour la diversité.

Family activities on Saint-Charles Street, under the responsibility of Asphalte Diffusion, will begin at 4:30 p.m. Circus show by Flip Fabrique and atmosphere provided by DJ Yro are among other things on the program.

“Hat theme”
Claude Cobra, singer of Bleu Jeans Bleu, has promised a “damn nice evening” at the Parc de la Cité on June 24.

Raising the “official” nature of the lectern behind which he stood during his speech, he borrowed the tone of politicians. “We promise citizens that they will leave happier than they arrived, and I say this knowing very well that people are already happy on National Day! That’s saying something!”

The mayor jokingly highlighted the “hat theme” of the evening of June 24, announcing that Renée Ray will take the stage as the opening act.

The evening will be hosted by FM 103.3 host Jean-Yves Lemay. “The largest gathering of humans will be in Saint-Hubert,” he said. The family celebration tradition continues in the district. from Saint-Hubert, from 11 a.m.

Longueuil was designated the host of the Montérégie Rive-Sud Regional Festival by the Société nationale des Québécois Richelieu-Saint-Laurent and the Mouvement national des Québécoises et Québécois.

Citizens are invited to travel by active or public transportation. The Longueuil Transportation Network will offer free transportation on June 23 from 4 p.m. and on June 24 from 10 a.m. on the lines serving the festivities. It is necessary to present a coupon, available on its website.
