the Int’Aire Mezzo ensemble celebrates its 20th anniversary with great fanfare

Saturday 1er June, at 7 p.m., in the Maurice-Lauche arenas, the 73 musicians will give an anniversary concert which is intended to be festive and friendly; it will also be a tribute to the action of the community music school which trained the vast majority. The concert will be exceptional with 180 musicians and choristers from the school’s singing classes and Aire Singing, a 180 square meter stage, sound and lighting to match the venue.

Previously, from 8 p.m., it is the ensembles of the community music school which will be in the spotlight, in large formations, for which all the teachers are mobilized.

Original creation

At 9 p.m., it’s time for the Int’Aire Mezzo orchestra, its choirs and its guest of honor, Manu Martin, a former student to whom she allowed to live out his passion for music professionally. Composer, arranger and orchestrator serving the greatest symphony orchestras in the world, he also co-wrote Florent Pagny’s latest album.

The original creation that he specially composed for the event is an opportunity for him to pay tribute to his teachers, Eric Dalzotto, Christian Ramis (piano and keyboard) and Guy Boulin, the former director, but also “to his city, its territory with a musical composition that reflects its identity.”

The concert program is intended to be eclectic: from “O fortuna”, taken from Carmina Burana, “Baba Yetu”, famous music from the video game Final Fantasy IV, with choristers to the most famous music from Puy du Fou (we are in arenas). But there will also be pieces for solo piano and orchestra, jazz, swing… In this place, a note of Spanish music is essential.

Fall back to the Saint-Loubouer arenas in the event of bad weather. Please note that on Sunday May 26, the Barcelona village hall will host, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., a public rehearsal of the school’s instrumentalists, choristers, classes and teachers at the end of which Manu Martin will explain the why and how of its composition.

Free admission.
