Haute-Marne is putting its court, prefecture and gendarmerie up for sale

For sale: Gendarmerie, courthouse, prefecture and two sub-prefectures. To alert and denounce the impossible budgetary situation into which Haute- risks plunging, the LR president of the department Nicolas Lacroix did not do half-measures and visibly succeeded. While the government of Michel Barnier plans a savings plan of 5 billion in the 2025 budget, including 2.2 billion in cuts to the departments, Nicolas Lacroix set out in search of ideas to find new money and challenge the State.

“I suggest you sell everything that belongs to us and that we do not occupy, first of all the prefecture […]. I also suggest that you sell the two sub-prefectures. We have been housing the sub-prefects without rent for too long,” said the elected LR to his departmental advisors meeting in a permanent committee on October 18, reports “ 3”.

In the process, the department published on “Leboncoin” announcements of real estate sales concerning these emblematic buildings of the Republic. Announcements of which we no longer find any trace today but which have had their effects.

Questioned this Monday by “FranceInfo”, Nicolas Lacroix, who also wishes for “the success of the Barnier government”, coming from the same political family, however estimated that more than sixty departments “will not be able to complete the 2024 budget”, without even considering to plan for 2025.
