This year again, the Large Parquet from Fontainebleau (Seine et Marne) will be the scene of a celebration dedicated to dogs, horses, nature and rurality bringing together thousands of animals in a green setting, making it the largest hunting gathering in Île-de-France.

Horses and dogs in competition

The gathering will once again highlight horses and dogs through various competitions, the French hunting horse championship, with varied events such as dressage, cross-country, handling, and many others. At the regional level, Jack Russells and retrievers will also compete in different events, while the traditional hunting horn competition will see the best pipers in France compete. In addition to the competitions, visitors will also have the opportunity to enjoy a series of varied activities.

A show of falconry will offer the opportunity to admire birds flying low and high. Another anticipated event of the weekend, the major semi-night equestrian show, with orchestra and horn concert, produced by Guiliane Senn promises an unforgettable experience on Saturday evening. Sunday morning will also be organized, to the sound of horns, the Saint-Hubert mass celebrated by Father José, parish priest of Fontainebleau.

Entertainment for young and old

Throughout the weekend, visitors will also be able to enjoy an educational farm, training demonstrations for different sheepdogs, presentations of packs of hunting dogs, pony baptisms, carriage rides, aerobatics demonstrations and much more. The Village will welcome 150 exhibitors offering works by artists specializing in animal representations, saddlery, local products and other local specialties to satisfy all desires. This year, a large fishing area will also be available for the first time.

For Pierre-François Priouxorganizer of the event, this weekend is an opportunity to celebrate rural cultures » For me, these two days serve to highlight all rural activities such as hunting or fishing, because these are cultures that are being lost today.” It also emphasizes the family and accessible side of this event » Visitors come with their families to spend a day or a weekend in a magnificent setting enjoying activities suitable for children and adults alike, all at prices reduced “.

Information For those wishing to plan their visit, the event will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. A variety of dining options will be available on site and free shuttles will be available to get there throughout the weekend. Entrance is €10, with free admission for children under 12.
