As part of the fight against drug trafficking at the national level, members of the judicial police of the city of Nador were able to foil the trafficking of a large quantity of hashish amounting to 250 kilograms.
The operation was the result of precise information obtained by the security services, which led to the arrest of an international transport truck that was trying to smuggle this large quantity across the border.
According to informed sources, the operation resulted in the arrest of the son of a parliamentarian, suspected of being involved in hashish smuggling. The sources said the arrested person was accompanied by two other people as they attempted to smuggle drugs, and they were all arrested in time before they could complete the smuggling operation.
Initial investigations showed that the drugs were well hidden inside the truck in order to bypass border checkpoints. However, the vigilance of the security agents and their close coordination prevented the success of this operation, and the truck was seized and thoroughly searched, which made it possible to discover the quantity seized.
As part of the ongoing investigations, the son of the arrested parliamentarian, as well as his two companions and the truck driver, were placed under theoretical custody measures. This measure comes based on the instructions of the competent public prosecutor, who is closely following the investigations to determine the rest of the circumstances of the case and discover other potential parties who could be involved in this smuggling network.
This operation confirms the commitment of the security authorities to intensify their efforts to combat drug trafficking through border crossings and to limit the activity of networks that seek to disseminate these harmful materials inside and outside the country. .
