DAKAR- While making its return to the CAN U-17 qualifiers after several years of suspension for age fraud, Guinea has just made the same mistakes again and gets caught once again by the patrol.

This Sunday, a few hours before his entry into the UFOA-A qualifying tournament for the CAN under 17 years old, the younger Syli has just been disqualified by CAF. “The organizing committee of the UFOA U17 tournament informs the public that the CAF medical team has notified it of the results of the MRI tests of the teams participating in the CAN U-17 qualifying tournament. The tests carried out reveal that three teams have exceeded the number of eligible players. Consequently, the U-17 national teams of Guinea, Guinea-Bissau and Sierra-Leone are disqualified from the tournament for the 2024 edition.” informs CAF. A real blow for Guinea.

The Guinean Federation and the authorities at all levels must identify responsibilities and sanction those at fault because this is not a first for the country and this selection of cadets. As a reminder, after the cadet CAN in Tanzania in 2019, Guinea was also suspended by CAF for two editions for age fraud… and the country is doing the same stupid things again without having obviously learned any lessons.
