Nîmes: the third edition of the Craft Forum highlights Gard excellence – News – Nimes

This Thursday, May 23, the Gard Chamber of Trades and Crafts (CMA 30) hosted the 3rd edition of the Craft Forum, an unmissable event for local entrepreneurs and artisans.

With numerous exhibitors, masterclasses, and information stands on aid, financing, training and apprenticeships, the Craft Forum is establishing itself as the event not to be missed. Whether you are a creator, buyer, seller or simply curious, this event aims to stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit and highlight the services of the CMA du Gard and its partners. The leitmotif of this day: to discover the CMA as a real “toolbox” for artisanal projects and businesses.

“Entrepreneurship is often seen as an obstacle course, that’s why I came”

Before midday, more than 200 visitors had already walked the avenues of the forum, demonstrating the interest aroused by this event. “When you want to get started, it’s reassuring to have support. Entrepreneurship is often seen as an obstacle course, that’s why I came. Meeting CMA staff and getting advice is essential. In addition, meeting other artisans who have already taken the plunge is very inspiring for me,” says Sophie*, passionate about wood sculpture and looking to launch her own workshop after leaving her job.

“The hand, the mind and the heart”

“Visitors to the Craft Forum discover a CMA that is useful and open to all. This event brings together a wide range of partners and craft players, offering everyone the opportunity to meet and exchange. I would like to thank our partners present, who allow the public to find all the necessary information, from initial training to retirement,” declares Xavier Perret, president of the CMA du Gard. “Craftsmanship is the hand for the gesture, the mind for the knowledge, and the heart for excellence,” he adds with passion.

With around 30,000 craft businesses in the Gard department, regional advisor Katy Guyot states without hesitation: “Crafts are the number one business in France! During my meetings at the Forum, I was able to see that this sector is booming and full of real gems. An unsupported business risks encountering difficulties. It is therefore essential for an entrepreneur to have the humility to seek help, and that is exactly what this event offers! »

Also present this Thursday, Christian Poujol, president of the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Hérault and vice-president of the Regional Chamber of Occitanie, recalled some figures: “Crafts represent around 250 professions in four sectors. In Occitania, this translates into more than 9,000 apprentices, 1,500 learners, 212,000 craft businesses and more than 430,000 workers. » He took the opportunity to joke with Katy Guyot: “You can tell Carole Delga that craftsmanship is even more important than Airbus! » A joke which nevertheless underlines the significant economic weight of craftsmanship in Occitanie and the Gard.
