A party in which the pea is king in Objat! Our selection of outings from May 23 to 26 in Corrèze

Here is a selection of activities to do alone, with family or friends, from Thursday May 23 to Sunday May 26, in Corrèze.

Get some fresh air, dance, laugh, learn… This fourth weekend in May promises to be full of events in Corrèze. To help you see things a little more clearly, here are our favorites and some ideas for outings.

1. This Sunday, May 26, the pea is king at Objat!

“It was one train a day loaded with peas, which left from Objat station to go to Paris and sometimes even to England. » It is not known whether Objat’s pea was eaten at Windsor Castle. What we know, on the other hand, given its quality and its fondant, is that it is certainly not him who inspired the tale, The Princess and the Pea.
It is varieties such as Petit de Lasteyrie, Gloire de la Corrèze and Serpette Guilloteaux which have made the Pays d’Objat’s reputation as an exceptional market gardening region. However, it was following the ravages of their vines caused by phylloxera in the 19th century that local farmers, forced and forced, turned to this production.

The sale of peas will be opened at 10 a.m., by Annie Pascarel, president of the extra-municipal commission, organizer of the event. Archive photo.

This Sunday, May 26, on the esplanade of the Jacques-Lagrave leisure area, the pea will be king of a festive day focused on gastronomy and conviviality.
In fact, many brotherhoods will be on site, with a range of gourmet offerings. With in particular, an essential dish, peas, slightly sweet, cooked in the old-fashioned way.
The sale of peas will be opened at 10 a.m., by Annie Pascarel, president of the extra-municipal commission, organizer of the event.
An exhibition will retrace the highlights and the prosperous period of this production. Folk dances will be presented by the Friends of Objat.
Accordion and DJ entertainment will be provided by Romain Lajoinie.
My little pea told me that this Sunday in Objat, on the leisure area esplanade, spring will finally be here!
