here are Morocco’s ambitions for 2025

In the road sector, the government plans to continue carrying out urgent actions included within the framework of the emergency rehabilitation and assistance program for the reconstruction of housing destroyed following the Al Haouz earthquake, in particular the upgrading of two sections of the national road RN7, linking “Ouirgane” to “Tlat N’yacoub” in the province of Al Haouz over a length of 34 km, and “Tizi N’tasset” to “Tafinghout” in the province of Taroudant over a length of 30 km for 665.5 million DH, and road connectivity to the New Port Nador West Med (NWM) including credits scheduled in 2025 (100 million DH in payment credits and 1.8 billion DH in credits commitment), correspond to the consolidation of markets relating to the duplication of the RN2 and the development of the RN16.

The government also intends to continue and launch road infrastructure projects included within the framework of State-Region program contracts signed for a total envelope of 17.13 billion DH including an amount of 7.02 billion DH relating to the contribution of the Ministry of Equipment and Water and to continue work affecting all maintenance operations of the road network and engineering structures threatening ruin with a budgetary allocation of approximately 2 billion DH programmed under the CAS entitled “Special Road Fund” for the year 2025.

What about motorway infrastructure? The government plans to continue the construction of the Guercif-Nador motorway over 104 km as part of infrastructure connectivity to the NWM, as well as the completion of works on the Tit Mellil-Berrechid motorway section at an estimated cost of 2.5 billion DH (excluding taxes) financed to the tune of 2.2 billion DH by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (FADES) and 1.1 billion DH by the Société nationale des Autoroutes du Maroc (ADM).

The National Road Safety Agency (NARSA) plans to continue the implementation of the “Safe autocar” programs, the scrappage bonus and the renewal bonus, as well as the awareness and communication policy around road safety and the professional driver training program. It is also planned to improve road safety on accident-prone and strategic roads in partnership with the various partners (ONCF, civil protection, local authorities, etc.). Marrakech will therefore host the 4th World Ministerial Conference on Road Safety planned. in February 2025.
