The amateur video was widely circulated on social networks and in the media. Thursday morning, as the Lignon entered a historic flood, cows surrounded by the waves were carried away by the current in Chambon-sur-Lignon.

“They were surrounded by the Lignon. There was at least 1.50 meters of water on the plot with a strong current. The cows wanted to leave on their own,” explains Étienne Valla, the owner of the herd.

Twenty-four hours of research

Four animals managed to escape by reaching the banks. But the last one, Panga, was still missing. From Friday, the breeder – who operates a Gaec in Chambon-sur-Lignon with his nephew – sets off in search of the animal along the devastated banks of the Lignon. In vain…

Until this Saturday when Panga was finally found. The cow unfortunately did not survive. His remains were rejected by Lignon in a meadow “just before Tence”, explain the breeders on social networks.
