Belgium recorded a heavy defeat (11-1) against Sweden after their third and final match in Group 5 of the first round of qualifying for the very first 2025 Women’s Futsal World Cup on Saturday in Alingsas (Sweden). ).

Linda Lundström, Ida Lindqvist, Isabel Maria Aguilar, Rebecca Rolin, Frida Rangemyr, Susan Kiryo and Madeleine Stegius registered their names on the Swedish side while Noa Corbeels scored the goal of honor for Belgium.

Despite an inaugural victory against Latvia (6-0), Niki De Cock’s players suffered two defeats in a row and finished in third place in group 5 with 3 points. Sweden is, for its part, qualified with a 9 out of 9. Slovakia (2nd, 6 points) and Latvia (4th, 0 points) are also eliminated.

During the first qualifying phase, twenty-three teams were divided into six groups. The six group winners will join already qualified Portugal and Spain in the elite round. The first two in each of the two groups will qualify for the 2025 Futsal World Cup which will take place in the Philippines from November 21 to December 7. In total, sixteen nations will take part.
