(APS) – The Minister of Family and Solidarity, Maimouna Dièye, handed over, on Friday, to the governor of the Tambacounda region, Guedj Diouf, more than a thousand tonnes of rice and 5 thousand liters of oils and other foodstuffs intended for populations impacted by the flooding of the Senegal River in the Bakel department.

”What we saw in Bakel pushed us to act diligently and the government gathered as much as possible to assist the victims. For the Ministry of Solidarity, we thought about food, we gathered more than a thousand tons of rice , 5 thousand liters of oil, sugar also and other foodstuffs,” she said.

Maimouna Dièye proceeded in Tambacounda to symbolically hand over this support to the governor of the region Guedj Diouf.

”We have just received another 8OO food kits made up of oil and sugar from goodwill to say that there are people of goodwill who have come spontaneously to us to help the disaster victims,” he said. she magnified.

The Minister of Family and Solidarity launched an appeal for goodwill, in particular to nationals of the affected localities, to join this outpouring of solidarity to help the impacted populations.
